Pepper

Pepper (piper nigrum) is a vine. It is used as a spice and seasoning. Black pepper is native to South India. Its fruit when dried, is known as peppercorn.

Black pepper is obtained  from the unripe fruit of the pepper plant, while white pepper is the dried seed of the ripe berry.

I  like white pepper, but I like black pepper more!

Wasabi

Wasabi is also known as "Japanese horseradish". The root is grated and used as a spice. It produces vapours that irritate the nose more than the tongue. It is commonly  eaten  with sashimi (raw fish) and sushi.

My Trip to Hort Park

On Friday 22/8/08 I went to Hort Park with my class and 1I. We got on to the bus, I talked with my friends Clara and Charmian. When we reached there Miss Yeo sent us group by group to the toilet. Then it started to rain so my class and I took out our raincoats and umbrellas.

Our papers got wet so we had to keep them in our bags. The flowers were many different colours. I could see Red, Purple, Blue, Pink and Yellow. There were so many Purple flowers!

I liked my trip to Hort  Park!

Maths activities

On Tuesday I had a activity on maths in the hall. There were 5 stations and there were 5 groups. Each had a station to start with. My group started at station 1(we were given a worksheet to record our answers in). it was VERY FUN ! I enjoyed it like on Monday.

New specs

Today was the 1st time I wore my specs to school. My friends said I looked funny. But I like the colour of the specs. I chose them myself. Mum said I can only wear them when I'm looking far.

Learning tapestry 3

Today my class went to the school Eco garden. We answered questions in a book we were given. We answered questions like naming plants, what is the shape of the pond and what helps fish swim. I enjoyed answering these questions because it was very fun.

Day out with mum

On Friday 15/8/08 there was no school because it was the p6 Oral Examination. My mum and I went to East Coast Park (big splash)we had a yummy burger at Carl's junior then we walked on the beach . After that we went to collect my glasses . We went to fetch my younger brother and finally we went home it was a VERY BUSY day.

Games Day

Today was my Lower Primary Games Day! I was very excited but, I had to wait for the other classes to finish first. While waiting my classmates and I talked about the horn. We laughed about funny things we said about the horn. Then the race started. My house (which is blue)won 1st prize! We got a GOLD MEDAL. I was VERY happy! It was a very FUN day.

Injection at school

I had an injection on Monday. My friends and I talked a lot and played a game that I just learned. After that I went inside, had my checkup, then I had to wait. Then it was my turn and Miss Yeo told me to look away. My injection was PAINFUL! after that I went for my art lesson . It's a day that I will remember.

zoo trip with my family

I went to the zoo with my family during the June holidays. We took
pictures of many animals such as kangaroos and otters. That's me and
my brother on the tortoise.

Swimming class

At first I did not want to go. Then I started enjoying myself at the
pool. My coach made me practise some exercises I learnt before.

I know how to float. I can jump into the deep end, turn around and
swim to the side. YAY!
